HAZELNUT
The hazelnut is the oil-rich nut produced by the hazel tree. It is appreciated both for its unique taste and for its many health benefits. Hazelnuts provide unsaturated fatty acids, vitamins E and B9, magnesium, potassium, and phosphorus. They also contain iron, calcium, and plant-based protein.

PRODUCERS
Our hazelnuts are produced in Turkey.
In Turkey, it is along the warm shores of the Black Sea, in the province of Ordu, that our producers’ hazel trees grow.
Flowering/harvest
Hazel flowering takes place in January and March, with harvesting in August and September.
About its flowering: The male flowers of the hazel are called “catkins.” They look like a colorful garland releasing golden-yellow pollen grains.
Manufacturing
Once the hazelnuts have been harvested, they are cleaned with a blower to remove soil, leaves, stones, and other foreign matter. They are also passed along an inverted conveyor belt to be sorted, washed, and brushed. After this step, the hazelnuts are dried for several hours before being shelled, sorted, and packaged, then transported to our factory in Oraison.
